Quarterly Membership Meetings
WSCMC’s quarterly meetings begin with a late afternoon program selected especially for WSCMC member. Programs are specifically selected to be both entertaining and educational weighing the industries technical needs with their general business and communication needs. The program is followed by a membership reception and dinner. The meetings offer opportunities for affiliate and contractor members to network in a relaxed atmosphere. WSCMC hosts the reception and dinner for four representatives from each affiliate member company; additional company representatives are welcome to attend for the cost of the dinner.
Management Training
WSCMC contractor members are invited to attend numerous management and supervisory programs each year as well as programs that are provided by the Masonry Institute of Washington. These complimentary educational opportunities may be technical, safety or a variety of topical programs that assist the contractor and their employees in providing a high quality product to the customer.
Contract and Labor Negotiations
WSCMC provides full labor relations and collective bargaining representation on behalf of its members. Through the collective bargaining process, the Association addresses many critical human resource issues as well, including provisions for top-notch health and pension benefits, vacation and holiday savings, as well as one of the most well-respected training programs in the construction industry. The Washington State Conference of Mason Contractors also provides representation and advice to its employers in grievance and arbitration matters.
Contractor Certification
Quality construction – the first time. That’s what it boils down to for the certified mason contractor. Through education and training, they are able to improve productivity and profitability by significantly reducing while increasing value. WSCMC Contractor Certification represents a contractor’s ongoing commitment to continual process improvement and customer satisfaction.
Safety Programs and Opportunities
WSCMC has a safety consultant that provides bi-annual safety training and assistance to members in meeting the requirements of safety and health regulations. An on-site review and written report is provided to the member to assist them on how better to meet current state and federal regulatory requirements. Each member has the opportunity to have a site of their choosing visited once a year. Additionally, written safety programs are provided as resources to be used by members as either templates or final components of a company Safety Program.
Annual Meeting
WSCMC’s Annual Meeting is an opportunity to combine business, networking, golf and pleasure into a top notch event that both the duffers and pros among us look forward to each year. Many member companies utilize this opportunity to market their company through the various sponsorship opportunities as well as play golf with their favorite customer.
Annual Christmas Program
Held in early December, WSCMC’s Holiday Gala & Annual Program serves as the debut of the holiday season. This formal holiday party takes on a life of its own including the bi-annual installation of Conference officers. WSCMC hosts the reception and dinner for two couples from each member company; additional company representatives are welcome to attend for an additional cost.
The Membership Rooster, Newsletter and National Publications
Contractor members are listed in WSCMC’s Membership Roster which is circulated to industry professionals as well as listed on the WSCMC website. All members receive the WSCMC newsletter. Technical standards and manuals, developed by WSCMC Contractors have found worldwide acceptance by the construction community, and are accredited by ANSI, the American National Standards Institute, as a standards-setting organization, are available at the member discount price through our office.
